What are vitamin C’s benefits for the skin?
J: Vitamin C is one of the best active ingredients for the skin. It helps to brighten uneven skin tone including hyperpigmentation and acne scars as it slows excess production of melanin. Vitamin C promotes collagen biosynthesis which helps to keep skin firm as we age and reduces signs of aging by diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This effective antioxidant also provides photoprotection as it helps to protect the skin from damaging free radicals from UV exposure.
Does vitamin C cause sensitivity to the sun?
M: No, it does not cause sensitivity to the sun. However, we always recommend sunscreen in the daytime to protect the skin from harmful UV rays.
Can the Vitamin C Facial Serum be used on all skin types? Even sensitive skin types?
J: Yes! Our Vitamin C Facial Serum can be used on all skin types. It is dermatologically tested, hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic. Our Vitamin C has a pH similar to the skin’s natural pH, which makes our serum more gentle and non-irritating compared to other vitamin C products on the market which typically have a low pH.
How often can I use the Vitamin C Facial Serum?
M: Our Vitamin C is very gentle and can be used every day. It can also be used both morning and night.
How long will it take to see results of Vitamin C Facial Serum?
J: After 2 weeks of use, you can begin to notice results.
What makes Vitamin C Facial Serum different from other vitamin C serums?
J: The difference is our delivery system of the active, ascorbic acid (the purest form of vitamin C) inside the skin. We carefully formulated an encapsulated system with volcanic soil to protect and improve the delivery and adhesion of the active vitamin C in the skin. Since our Vitamin C is encapsulated, it is very stable and maintains the key properties of the active during the shelf life of the product. Our active vitamin C utilizes the Smart Bio-Shell delivery system to stabilize pure ascorbic acid against water, air, and sunlight.
M: Our Vitamin C Serum is also formulated with edelweiss plant stem cells, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin E to provide full benefits of brightening, hydrating, and smoothing. Edelweiss plant stem cells have firming and restructuring properties which help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by preventing collagen loss. Hyaluronic acid helps the skin retain hydration, plumps, and smooths signs of aging. Vitamin E has great moisturizing and healing properties that helps to strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier.
What inspired you to make this product? Why did you pick the ingredients?
M: We wanted to make the Vitamin C Facial Serum because we recognized the benefits of vitamin C for the skin. Most vitamin C products on the market aren't natural. We wanted to make a natural alternative to conventional vitamin C products that would give people the benefits of active vitamin C without any harsh ingredients. We picked the ingredients based on their effectiveness and benefits for the skin.
J: After a briefing of the product, we checked the percentage of natural ingredients and began research on the base and the active ingredients. We considered the effectiveness and compatibility of all the ingredients in the formulation of our Vitamin C Facial Serum. We decided to blend notes that would remind us of the source of our vitamin C. Our vitamin C is extracted from oranges, so we decided to create a sweet, citrusy blend for the Vitamin C Facial Serum. We blended notes of vanilla, sweet orange, sicilian lemon, and pink grapefruit for a light refreshing aroma on the skin.
There are a lot of different types of vitamin C products out there – creams, moisturizers, masks, and so forth. Why did you choose to make this product as a serum?
J: We decided to make this product as a serum because it is easy to use and apply. You can use our Vitamin C Facial Serum twice a day, alone or combined with other products, as well as under makeup and sunscreen. The texture of the serum is lightweight and absorbs quickly on the skin.
M: We wanted to start with a lightweight serum to introduce the vitamin C products first. Our plan is to have a full vitamin C collection in the future.
